Disease Outbreak Response Plan
San Diego Municipal Utility District # 1 is taking proactive measures should Coronavirus
(COVID-19) spread in the community.
In following guidelines by Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), we have initiated Phase I of our Disease Outbreak Response Plan.
Phase I – Proactively taking necessary precautions such as educating employees on prevention.

Consistently disinfecting customer service areas

Restricting staff from entering homes, unless there is an emergency

Hours of operation will remain unchanged at this time.
Phase II

Limit hours of service to (including but not limited to) payments made inside office. Our office would be reducing walk-ins.

Drive thru window would remain open normal hours
Phase III

Restricting payments inside the office to only drive thru window, night drop box and mail in payments.
Phase IV

Payments only accepted by night drop box or mail. A designated time would be allotted for drive thru window to be open in order to process new accounts or closing accounts which require a signature. There are no restrictions for call in payments made with a credit/debit card are within any Phase.
*Measures imposed by San Diego Municipal Utility district # 1 are intended to minimize the risk of both contracting and spreading coronavirus (COVID-19) among our staff and customers. These restrictions will not affect the quality of our water supply.
*San Diego Municipal Utility District # 1 treats water supply by disinfecting with chlorination which is designated to eliminate pathogens. (pathogens-bacterium, virus other micro-organisms that can cause disease).
